Hey first post here so let me know if i need to add any extra info.

I just decided to upgrade my PC, i am new to building computers etc so bare with me here. I have kept the same graphics card (nVidia GTX 650 ti) and bought a new processor (Intel i5-3470) and set of memory (corsair vengence 16gb), i ordered these with the help of my friend over skype and he assured me it would be easy enough to fit them. The new parts arrived today and sure enough it was easy, i did everything very carefully and slowly so i believe i installed them correctly but when i turned the machine on it it made 4 quick beeps and the monitor remained with a black screen but the pc was on and sounded like it was working just fine. I did a little research and apparantly the beeps mean that theres something up with hardware when booting so i tried all the different combinations of new/old parts and it seems to only happen now when the new processor is being used.

The only logical thing i can think of (being a pc noob) is that this new processor is using more power than the old one and preventing the graphics card from doing its thing, hence the black screen (no display). OR i just got a broken processor sent to me lul.
