Samsung HDTV works only with DVI Pc Output (not HDMI)

Hi,

I have a MSI HD6850 card on my computer and a Samsung 46F5000 tv. When connecting HDMI to HDMI, I seem to not have a connection recognized by the tv (although it's recognized by the computer, in the Catalyst console and the one of the windows).
Making the tv as the main screen (using "Make Preffered" in the Catalyst console) combined with disconnecting and connecting the cable, enabled the duplicating view for one second and then the tv lost the signal once again.

Now, using the DVI to HDMI adapter on the computer makes it work just fine. The connection gets recognized by the tv instantly and it's stable. The only problem is the absence of sound...
Then I tried connecting the sound output of the motherboard to the tv (green to white/red). Didn't get recognized either. TV audio works only with receiver?

I seemed to try almost every combination involving shutting down the PC, shutting down the TV and disconnecting the cable. Also reinstalled the driver.

Help?

Do you have anything else connected to the card. like a monitor? The card has four outputs, but the chip only supports three displays at a time, so at least one output is shared. If I remember right, the hdmi shares one of the DVI ports. Concerning the sound: goto control panel / sounds / playback devices. You will see the hdmi port set as the standard device at the moment. That's why the onboard sound doesn't work.

Didn't fully understand the sharing thing. I have a Dell 23" monitor connected to one of the DVI ports. So the tv does work when both DVI ports occupied (one by the monitor and one by the tv) and doesn't work for one DVI and one HDMI.
Regarding the sound - I disabled the HDMI sound output, but I still get nothing if the tv defined as speakers. Should I configure some other thing?

Did you try both dvi ports, when the TV is connected via HDMI? I think one DVI and the HDMI share on digital output of the chip and the other DVI shares the second digital output with the DP.
You disabled the HDMI sound output? But what's the standard playback device now?

Yep, tried both of them. With both of them, the first time I connect them, after changing configuration to preferred or extending instead of duplicating, the message on the tv screen changes from "No Cable Connected" to the title HDMI2/DVI: PC as it seems to connect, but all it shows is a black screen for couple of seconds.

As for audio playback devices, tried Speakers and Realtek Digital Output (setting them as default devices). Both seem not to work.
