New PC Build - Beeps on powering

So I finally put together my system (my second system, actually, the first one worked, but wasn't powerful enough, so I recycled the GPU and PSU to my new computer), and upon trying to power it on, I get various beeps. I don't recall how many I got the first time, but I quickly removed it from power, and removed all components save the CPU.

Here's my build:
ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX mobo
AMD FX-8350 CPU
2TB Hard-drive
64GB SSD
16 GB 1600 RAM

Alright, I removed everything, and turned it on again. After a quick pause, I got 3 looong spaced out beeps. I understand that might mean memory issues. But with no memory in, I take it to mean I need to put some in. So I put one of my 8GB sticks in (the proper spot according to the MoBo manual). Now I get 5 quick beeps, that repeat indefinitely. I can go back and forth, getting 3 without RAM, and 5 with RAM, and it never changes (I tried 3 times, once without ram, once with each stick).

Did I kill my CPU somehow? Because a list of BIOS beeps said that 5 usually means "Process Failure" and that just sounds plain bad.

Well, I swapped RAM again, and now I have no beeps. I may well have accidentally tried the same stick each time before. So I put in the video card and plugged it into a monitor. No video output, no beeps, just the sound of fans.
