Greetings. I have pc with spec:
Motherboard G41M-ES2L , one IDE seagate 150gigs , SATA seagte each 1 terabyte and one dvd drive. I'm planning to add another storage. And i having issue with my bios. When PC first boot you see they checking "detecting drive" and theres you know a IDE channel [stuff like that i dont realy understand] theres master and slave like that. I have 4 IDE channel 2 master and 2 slave and 4 of them already occupied. So heres my questions , if i add another HDD/storage how do i know if the bios detect it if theres no more ID channel left for new drive? Or am i can't add another drive in there? Because i see 2 more sata slot in my motherboard so technically i can add 2 more HDD right? but theres no more IDE channel in bios both slave and master already occupied. Appriciate any help fellow members of tomshardware can give me :)  Thanks.

If I am not mistaken cin19 is suggesting you add a SATA controller card to your computer. It would plug into a PCI slot. This would allow you to add one or more hard drives to your system, provided you have room in the case for the drive or drives. You would also want to check your power supply to make sure you have a spare power connector or connectors for the drive or drives.

What i'm asking is i have 4 sata connector . 2 of them already occupied by 2 seagate hdd 500 gigs and 1 tb [still 2 remaining] and i have 1 IDE hdd + dvd drive both using this http://www.ebay.com/itm/5pcs-IDE-ATA-40Pin-80-wire-PATA.... So you know i can put 2 more storage i still have 2 sata connector but what bugging me is , in bios i dont have anymore IDE channel master or slave so when i add another hdd how do i supose to know if it is detected? like this image http://img.tomshardware.com/us/2007/10/29/hitting_4ghz_.... both master and slave are ocupied by my dvd drive and 3 hdd pretty much like this image http://www.easeus.com/resource/images/install-ide-hard-.... I still have 2 more sata connector in motherboard so if i plug anoter hdd will my bios automatically create another master/slave?

With SATA drives, there are no more "Master" or "Slave" drives, just SATA. So if you connect another SATA drive to your MB, the BIOS should automatically detect it.

After you boot into Windows, you will need to go into "Disk Management" and partition, format, and assign drive letter(s) to the new drive.

Hi Lukaz, I though you used all the IDE and SATA ports, so I recommend to buy the add-on card so that you can add more HDD.

Your MB can support two IDE devices ( your 1X HDD+ 1X DVD), and 4 more SATA devices that you already used two, right. So you just buy the SATA HDD and plug it in the SATA port, like YOGI said, the PC will automatically detect it after you initialize and format it. http://www.overclock.net/t/1227647/how-to-initialize-an...
