No BIOS display booting newly build machine

I have just built a new machine with a Gigabyte G1.Sniper A88X MB and AMD 7850K APU. But nothing shows on startup, I've tried the VGA, DVI and HDMI ports. The fans start on power up and I can shut it back down by holding the power button for a few seconds.

So re-reading the Gigabyte site I find:-

"To enable AMD FM2+ APU support, please update your motherboard with latest version of specific BIOS and driver in Motherboard's Download section once available"

So how do I do that with no BIOS prompts I can see?

Interesting troubleshooting guide, I haven't tried bread boarding it yet. But removed memory and it beeps like a good un, I also hadn't mentioned that the CPU fan starts fine and the power led comes on.

Thanks for the posts, I'll keep working through them.

Thanks - I will. I stripped it right back to just MB, Memory, Processer, speaker and the power switch cable connected. Same result, I borrowed some memory out of my current machine in case the 2400 memory I bought was a problem - same result.

So I've just order a cheap FM2 APU and I'll borrow a PSU from work, then build it all outside of the case. As the cooler I bought is easier to fit with the MB out.

Oh - And I've raised a ticket with Gigabyte - I don't know how responsive they are.

But if I solve it, I'll post back anyway.

Thanks

So bought a £30 A4 5300, dropped it in and it booted first time. Updated the bios to F7 from the boot USB created from your instructions. Swapped back to my proper A10 7850K and it booted fine.

I think Gigabyte should make this clearer, I'm still waiting for an answer to my case with them...

So warning to everyone, don't get this G1.Sniper A88X board and an FM2+ processor, unless you'd like to also buy my temporary A4 5300 or similar i.e. an older FM2 processor.

Hopefully later motherboards will have BIOS F7 or later.

Thanks
