Documents won't open

I haven't changed anything, as far as I know, but now all my word documents want to open in Microsoft Word 2010, which I haven't got.

Also, I can't open Word email attachments. I get a message saying This file does not have a programme attached to it for pereforming this action.

What happens
Do you get an error message or does it open in read only mode

MS provide free programs to read but not create word, excel, PowerPoint or access

Is this your own PC ?
are many people using it ?
If so give each their own user login so only one account gets corrupted

You have the option of clicking on document and saying open with ?
Also always open with this application
If this is done on wrong app you need to reset it
