Need Help! 2x4gb installed but windows only detects 4gb.

Specs:
AMD A10 6800k
Gigabyte F2A55M-DS2 rev. 1.2
2x4gb Kingston Hyperx blu 1600 KHX1600C9D3B1/4G
Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

The bios and cpu-z detects 8gb (8192) but windows only detects 4gb.

Just try unmounting and mounting them. Also, if you have 4 dimms, check the motherboard's manual to see which you should use and which you shouldn't if they are not all 4 of them occupied, it matters sometimes.

Thank you for the quick reply. I only have 2 dimms and I already tried the mounting and unmounting but no luck.

The bios shows the full 8gb.

It's ok now. I was able to fix it by flashing the bios to the latest version, dram frequency to 2400, nb core voltage to +0.1, and changing the ram timings to 9-9-9-24. Got this solution from another thread here at tom's hardware. Thanks for the help guys.
