games crashing randomly

There are a few things you can try if it is software related...
1) Uninstall the gfx driver and run Driver Sweeper from Safe Mode (F8). http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4266-driver-sweeper.html
...have it remove any AMD, ATI, and Nvidia GRAPHIC driver remnants it finds. Re-boot and install the latest driver for you card and OS.
2) Run CCleaner https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner
...and do the Clean and Registry portions both to clean up junk files, resource-wasting crap, and most importantly, registry errors. If your system is badly corrupted, run it over again... until it comes back with no errors.
3) disable as many items that are running in the background while you are trying to game as you can. Look in your tray for stuff you can live w/o auto-starting.
