Hi all this is my first time useing tomshardware so if i do or type something wrong please notify me.
Ok im looking on advice on buying a good graphics card for a low budget price.I want to spend between 150$ and 200$ and i need good advice on which one to get.I have a cheap 1gb in it now i think its called a evga nvidea geforce 8400 gs 1 gb low profile in my pc now. I was thinking of this one to get (GIGABYTE GV-N650OC-4GI GeForce GTX 650 4GB 128-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready Video Card) for only about 140$ to 150$ but ive looked almost everywhere and cant find reviews on it what so ever. I know video ram isnt everything in a graphics card i know that you want good video ram and ive read that you want also a good video processor one that can do at least 128 bit but what im looking for is something between 150 and 200$ around that and has at least a 2gb of video ram and is 256-bit doesnt have to be 256 bit though i am just throwing that in there. I want something that will play WoW,Metro Last Light and Mass Effect 3 on good to high settings also its not a must but something that can be safely OCd would be great also

Here are my specs

Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

AMD FX(tm)-6100 six core processor "its a 3.3gh but i think it can be 3.9 turbo boosted"

GIGABYTE 78LMT-S2P Motherboard

4gb DDR3 ram "gonna get some gameing ram between 8 to 16 gb of it when i get my new Graphics Card"

EVGA Nvidea GeForce 8400 gs 1gb low profile Graphics Card

100gb SSD for fast loading of WoW and windows
800gb HDD for everything else

550w PSU

Thanks everyone who posts a response for your patiance and research

1.PNY VCGGTX660XPB GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 (Approximately $189.99)

2.ASUS R9270-DC2OC-2GD5 Radeon R9 270 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 (Approximately $175.99)

3. GTX 750 Ti is a recommended option too.

PS. 8GB RAM is enough for gaming.

The MoBo and GPU do not have to be the same brand to work together.

There are differences with different brand GPUs.
Example: GeForce GTX 750 Ti Asus 2GB OC Edition is 10% worse than GeForce GTX 750 Ti Gainward Golden Sample 2GB Edition.

There's nothing that would make a Gigabyte GPU work better with a Gigabyte MoBo over the other brands.

alright ppl i have to say im quite impressed with the card and ram for all other games besides WoW but then again WoW is a little demanding when it comes to graphics especially if you have your view distance all the way up that just means your gpu has to load everything from the distance that you set but still it is a solid card all games besides WoW i can have at max settings and get outstanding fps at about 80 to 120 for some and 150 to 200 for others WoW on the other hand wll jump up and down between 15 and 35 fps on ultimate settings and 30 to 100 fps on high depending on where your at,how many ppl are around you and what direction your facing...Thanks all of you for the advice w/o your advice i would have probably got some renkidink radeon or something and would have been highly disappointed...I am now pro Nvidia...GOOOOOOO GeFORCE

lol sorry i over exaggerated WoW does not do 15 to 35 on ultimate settings it does 30 to 50 but with some frame skipping do to the jumping up and down of fps oh btw im not dissing on any of you radeon users by saying renkidink radeon from my last post thanks again all of you and for the ppl that have the system and finances to get a new graphics card i highly recommend the EVGA Nvidia GeForce 750 ti it is a great card and runs smoothly the only thing is the fan is a little noisy but thats not a big deal for me. i highly recommend "if you get this card" that you set your fan speed to enable software automatic fan control with the provided program called EVGA Precision. default just has the fans running at 42% but if you set it to software automatic the fan goes up with the degrees of the gpu but in all it runs very cool the max i have seen it get was 56 to 57 degrees celsius i think max is 95 celsius before there starts to be damage involved oh and i used the same program to overclock the card 20% and still it stays at 56 to 57 celsius
