My boyfriend's wireless card has gradually just got worse and worse and it's his birthday soon.
His internet speed is good for his gaming, just the wireless card in his computer is crappy.
He currently has a ASUS PCE N15.

Can anyone recommend me a card which will be better for his gaming so he doesn't get as much lag and such? Thanks :)

That card is still a pretty good card compared to other like it. You can get cards with more feature such as 802.11ac or even a dual band card but it does no good unless the router also has the same features.

No wireless card is good for gaming since all are susceptible to random interference.

The real solution is to try to determine the source of the interference. It is likely lots of neighbors on the same radio channels. You could try changing the channel on the router and see if it helps. If the router supports it you could buy a different wireless card that supports 5g so you could try those channels too but 5g does not penetrate walls as easy so it may not work well in a particular house.

There is no easy answer to wireless problems.....other than to not use wireless if that is a option.

Personally, I prefer wireless adapters that connect via usb and a wire. The farther away from all the metal in the case the wireless receiver is, the better it works. I've had good luck with the TRENDnet TEW-684UB.

However, if he has it in his mind that pci-e = faster, he may not like a usb adapter very much. In which case, I might go with something like the TP-LINK TL-WDN4800.

Also, keep in mind that the wireless router can be just as important as the receiver. If you are using one you got from the cable company, it might be a good idea to look into something better, like the ASUS RT-N66U or RT-AC68U (just be sure to download the newest firmware, for security reasons)
