Im lookin for a cheap set of 2 4gb sticks of ram they need to be 2133 mhz dont really have a price range bit they need to under a $100
thnx for your time

Solution
You should be able to run at 1333, 1600, 1866 though if price was up there, exchange and get money back, prob at least least enough for a beer or two or more ;)

What mobo and CPU? Asking because if AMD, good chance they can't even run 2133 sticks, the following are all under $100, with the CL9 sets the best, then CL10 and CL11 being the slowest

If running a K model Intel, there's also a good variety of 2400 sticks for less than $100

I have an fx 8350 and an ESC 990fxm-a motherboard. An IT guy said that i needed 2133 mhz of RAM for my pc just to boot up

Feel free to tell him he doesn't belong in IT ;) He may be thinking 1333, which would be a default boot freq, but being realistic here, if it 'needs' 2133 just to boot, and you you look at specs, how then can it run any of the freqs UNDER 2133 that it specifically says it supports or when he says IT he means I Think ;)

I agree with him completely no matter what RAM you put in your motherboard will automatically default it to 1333mhz so there is no way you need at least 2133mhz ram

if they work why return them? even if the mobo defaults them to 1333mhz you should be able to set them back at 2133mhz if your CPU doesn't support it you can get atleast 1866mhz

Im returning it cause i already own a good 2 pair of 4gb sticks that have the speed of 1600mhz and tey work just fine. I didnt really want to spend $100 dollars anyways so i can get my money back.
