laptop won't boot

Hi we have a problem with our laptop, it won't boot up. It gets to a boot device screen and won't go any further. It also sounds like a clicking noise from the hard drive area , any help would be appreciated.

I'm afraid you might need a new hard drive.
Try starting up the pc a few times to make sure it doesn't work.
If you get lucky and it boots, count your blessings and save your data and then get a new hard drive anwyay.
