All of the posts about windows 8 & 8.1 running at 100% disc usage LISTEN UP! This has nothing to do with what you have done or installed, this is NOT a virus!
I had the same problem with a new dell laptop with 8.1. i took it back. then i went to 2 different costco stores and guess what? EVERY BRAND NEW LAPTOP IN THOSE STORES HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. 100% disc usage after i restarted them!! I immediately checked task manager after restart and 100% right away!!! WHY???? This was over 12 brand new "in the box" laptops with nothing loaded onto them!! This was on dell, HP & acer laptops, windows 8 and 8.1 machines intel and AMD processor machines. It is obvious to me that the problem is in windows 8 AND 8.1. MAJOR BUG!!!
If it wasnt then why would abrand new laptop when it is restarted run up to 100% disc usage? Hello microsoft fix this!!
