Besides Resolution (1920x1080/1920x1200) and physical screen size, which of these two monitors is the better deal for gaming? Is the $100 dollar premium enough to justify the price for the PA248Q?

PA248Q: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
PB238Q: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I appreciate all of your opinions.

They are both relatively the same, except the PA gives you extra vertical space by using the 1920x1200 resolution ... which is great for people who like having that extra vertical space. So base your decision on whether you want the 16:9 or 16:10 ratio.

Also, another option (for gaming) is a 144Hz monitor, but then you have to give up on IPS and use a TN panel.

Does the resolution bump justify a $100 premium?

That's for you to decide.
Is it important to you?

Do you ever feel yourself thinking... I wish they hadn't switch to widescreen; I really like having all that extra vertical space when I work on a computer. In that case, the extra price *might* be worth it ... but it should also be noted, that it is not a TON of extra vertical space ... which makes it a tad bit sad that they charge so much more for it.

Thanks for all of your opinions, and I think i've concluded the 16:9 is the best fit for me. Thanks again :)
