id cover your basics and run memtest, also run driver sweeper and do a clean reinstall of your video drivers, make sure your windows installation is patched and your game is patched. any other games behaving similarly?

I literally had the same problem with almost every game I'd play, I had a quad-core phenom with an EVGA GTX 650 Ti.. I just RMA'd my card and hopefully when I get it back everything will stop. If you have another card you can try, or another system to try your card in I'd definitely do that.. do other games crash too? My card would run Valley BM fine, but Borderlands & LoL + Skyrim, etc. would all crash within 10 minutes. Don't forget to check your temps, and setup an aggressive fan profile, if you are comfortable with overclocking, try increasing the voltage a little at a time and see if it become stable enough. I had to do the same with my card until I had a convenient week to send my card in.
Best of luck!

Is cpu or gpu overheating? Have you monitored temps and checked windows error logs in the event viewer to see if windows is reporting anything right before it locks up?
