I have seen a number of posts in this and other forums about phantom high memory usage, but have yet to see any effective suggestions as to how to resolve this, so for now I am going back to Windows 7, thoughts anyone?

you can use some ram cleaning soft wares to clean up more ram memory for your device. most of them requires a payment.

other wise you can use windows in-built feature to clean more ram. USE NOTEPAD

type the below code in note pad and save it as anything.bat [ You may choose the "All Files" option when u save it ]

" FreeMem=Space(1024000000) " ( without Quote )

Every time you rum that file 64 MB if ram will be cleaned.

Of course you can edit the core. In the "Space ( )" braces you can type the amount of ram to be cleaned followed by 6 0s (6 zeros).

One more thing if your system memory usage is always (or most of the time) 80-90% utilised than you will need a ram upgrade.
any ram having 1600 or 1866Mhz will preform the best. out of these the 1866 with a latency 9 perform the BEST.

hope this solved your problem

Maybe it's a malware. It's pretty use to C code a program that alocate a lot of memory repeatedly without being detected by the anti-virus (because it's not harmful).
Could you pleas download HijackThis, run and send us a log file?
