So I had issues with my computer, I had a slimline tower, the PSU died and a new one which was like 200Watts costed $220 locally, so instead I opted to get a tower coming with a 500Watt PSU for $95 and I figured I would transfer everything.

I guess I should know I had replaced the MOBO, CPU and RAM in 2012 and those are the same components I was putting in the new tower.

My issue now if, everything's transferred, I power on, the Fan connected to the Sys_fan pins work, the Power button works to turn ON the computer, but not off. No other activity, just that one flashing light and my DVD drive working.

Possible scenarios? I would greatly appreciate help. And thanks in advance to all of you who took the time to read this and especially to those that helped. =)

Im not saying that is definately your problem m8 , but it is a fair bet that a case that comes with a 500wpsu and is only $95 that the psu is rubbish ,
this has happened to my multiple times i have had clients bring in new builds they cant power up with a new case and psu and the cheap psu has been the problem ,there is a reason these psu's come with a case , because in the open market they would not stand a chance , do you have any friends who have an old pc that you could borrow a power supply to try ?

Thanks for the response Micky. =)
Just sucks to think after all this time I decided to buy a tower with a PSU, the PSU is what's the problem. Though I rather that than the components on the computer. Just mmy desktop has been down since September, I posted a message on here saying I had heard a pop and then it had shut down but I got no replies, lol.

Thanks though! =D

Well! I have some not so good news...

I got my dad to take the case back to the store where it was purchased, they tested the PSU and said it was working fine, I spoke to the technician. So obviously, if that's fine, I need to check the MOBO which is probably the problem and if I hafta change that, obviously I need to reactivate my Windows. I contacted a Microsoft help person and they said I'll need to purchase a new Windows Product key and that's gonna cost me $119 US.

Alil bummed because I can tell I hafta spend money I don't have, so I hafta wait until I have the money.

Anyways, thanks all. =)
