HELP! Laptop dvd player light not on

okay so i downloaded some software on my dell inspiron latop. then i popped opened my dvd player then i had to jiggle the dvd out and now it wont close and the lights not on
i deleted the software but now the light isnt on and the dvd player isnt going in
HELP!!!!

It's not getting any power if the light never comes on and the drawer won't close.
Power is supplied to it by means of a rigid power connector at the back.
If the drive itself (not the drawer) is sticking out slightly, give it a firm push to restore the connection.

If it's not sticking out then the drive may have just packed up, but you may want to let a laptop repair shop take a look at it before you replace it.
