My girlfriends Sony Vaio S 15 keeps shutting down after about 15 to 30 seconds. I opened it up and browsed on the internet for about 30 seconds and it just shut off on me. I pushed the power button and it restarted like normal. The windows 8 loaded and I was able to log into the computer and view the desktop and even opened internet explorer but then it just shut off again. The first thing I did after that was restart the laptop and checked the battery and the battery was fully charged but again the laptop shut off in about 15 seconds. I started it up a third time windows loaded and I reached the desktop again and again the laptop shutdown in 30 seconds. I noticed that the laptop was not warm or hot since the I hadn't used it for more than a minute. I started it a fourth time and again it had the same problems but this time I noticed a didn't hear the normal humming of the fan and I don't think it was on for the previous attempts. I have done many more attempts but I get the same results the laptop lasts 15-30 seconds without the fan running. The computer worked normally earlier in the day. I think its the cpu cooling fan but I'm not very tech savvy when it comes to computers so I don't know if this part failure could be causing the laptop to shut down so quickly.
