If i give a web site "trusted" access past my firewall, just what exactly are they capable of?

It depends what kind of program we're talking about here. For instance, if you are a standard user, then to program won't be able to make any changes without passing through the user account control. What website are we talking about here?

You are asking a question with many answers depending on what the sites intent is. If the site has been compromised or is intentionally trying to "get to everything" then by trusting them you are giving them full rights to destroy your shit.
Don't know the site well enough then Google it and look for indications it is a virus laden POS or destructive in any other way...........BTW if you are asking you probably already went somewhere and are regretting it..So where did you go?
