I really feel like im not asking google the right questions because someone has to have talked about this already.

I just bought a rosewill wireless n pcie card. It comes with a disc but is only for 7 and below. I download the windows 8 drivers and in everyway I know of ive tried installing them. windows deems this Atheros driver to be "the best" and wont go on.

I suppose the card has an Atheros chipset which is k but the manual shows a configuration utility fired up. Id really, I mean really like to ad hoc(?) my brothers phone because im pretty sure at this distance from the router the two of us are too much to keep up with. I suppose we could half the connections and just share date through one connection?

thanks for readin.
