Reasons for that kind of problem can be difficult to track down since it's intermittent, but you may want to try running the System File Checker: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833
You may also want to look in the Event Viewer for any clues immediately after experiencing the black screen:Control Panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer
I ran the SFC and it found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.
After that i restarted the pc, and the black screen issue did not repeat.
However, since it's intermittent i cannot say for sure that the cause is gone,If it happens again i'll just check the event viewer, but I'm optimistic.
I'll check the CBS.log file provided and see what i can get from there.
Thanks alot for the help.
