Hey all, looking to upgrade my graphics card(after much frustration with it not working for the new Diablo 3 update) and thought I might as well look into seeing what I would need to upgrade to be on par with the next generation of games, instead of one that wont last me very long. As I don't have a clue on this subject and internet research has lead me down several different routes.

Basically is it cost effective to upgrade this rig for gaming or should I just buy a ps4 etc

AMD FX-4300 4.0GHz Quad Core CPU
8GB of 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 6670 2GB Graphics Card
Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 Motherboard
450W Standard PSU

Many thanks for the help in advance

A PS4 costs what, $400?
For that much you could easily upgrade your PC to reasonable standards.
I'd recommend these.

For $340 your PC would exceed Xbox One and PS4 performance.

Or for $270 you could exceed Xbox One performance and roughly match PS4 performance.

As a FUTURE option the current motherboard can support even the later 8 core FX8xxx series CPUs: http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4305 With games increasingly using 4 or more cores for best performance this is an upgrade I think you should consider for later on.
For now the HD6670 is holding the system back although it should still play reasonably well if you lower the details and resolution.
Before giving any hard recommendations we'll need to know your budget, monitor resolution and expectations but as a suggestion a GTX760 or R9 270 would be good choices if you're using a single 1080 monitor.
As for power, 550-600Watts will be more than enough but stick to good makers: Antec, Corsair, Seasonic, Silverstone, XFX, EVGA make decent kit and you should look towards paying $55-70 (US).
