I have this problem that my motherboard can't find my HDD..
I used the pc before with my SSD, but my SSD is broken so i wanted to change it to my HDD.. First i tried with my old HDD (Seagate Barracuda 7200 80gb) but my motherboard couldn't find it.. So i bought a new HDD just yesterday (the one in specs) but it still won't find it!!
I even bought a new SATA cable and a 4in to 15pin to check if it could be the one wire from the PSU..

So what now?
I then went reading online and found multiple solutions.. I've tried updating my BIOS, resetting CMOS (by removing the little round power suply thingie) and also i've changed and tried all SATA ports...

What can i do now? I have been thinking about downgrading my BIOS to first release.. any thoughts of that?
I really need help, since i am totally stuck and don't know what else to do/try!

Best regards!

Well i think my SSD stopped working when i got a BSoD one time, a good while back.. after that the SSD was detected, but not working/booting.. it said it only contained 2mb space, when it had 128gb..
My old HHD were never detected, not even back when the SSD was working..

There are no other devices connected with SATA, so no... And i can't see the HDD in BIOS/UEFI either.. not in boot menu or under storage devices..
It's like the HDD's isn't even connected.. it does not show on the "system browser" picture either.. no SATA's are highlighted when HDD is connected.. I can only see my GPU, RAM and CPU highlighted...

But my old HDD worked on another pc of mine just 1 week ago.. so i know for a fact that my old HDD works.. and the brand new HDD (from specs) isn't getting detected either.. though it has NEVER been used, i just unpacked it last night :)

So i am thinking something about either my SATA's are broke, the BIOS has a misfunctional setup or the PSU wires are totally broke (thought the motherboard gets power), and besides that, the 4pin wire has something connected to the usb or led or something on my tower.. so i know that the 4pin to 15pin wires (brand new) would work... so in my head it can only be the SATA's on the motherboard or the BIOS...

Hmm can't really find it anywhere.. it just says DRV HD 80gb SATA-3gb.. And it's a Seagate Barracuda.. it has a jumper block tho', i just don't know what it does or how it works :p

Hmm i can't really.. i am on a school home where everybody has laptops :p i think i am the only one with stationary pc... So it will be hard to test...
But i know my old HDD works, so it should be able to detect it anyways...

Any thoughts of whether i should downgrade my bios to first release??

I will keep this topic open, since it's still not working and maybe someone else have a solution or idea about this :)
