can i transfer data from my old laptop to my new pc?

I have a hp pavilion g6 2240sa and it's going to break any time soon i keep on needing to restart it and i'm planning on buying a new desktop computer without an operating system can i somehow transfer the data and keep the same operating system and files on the new pc?

Your personal data? Sure.

The OS and applications? No.
The OS is almost certainly OEM, installed by HP. And as such is licensed to that particular motherboard.

Even if that was not the case, you can't port a Windows install from a laptop to a new desktop. It will almost certainly not boot. Hardware is too different.
