I have an Intel Pentium G3420 with an MSI H87-G43 and I was just looking at the BIOS and the CPU was at 80 degrees celsius. What did is wrong with the system? I have an Antec 300 case if that helps.

Not enough airflow, too much dust buildup, not enough/too much thermal paste, failing CPU fan, improperly fitted heat sink...

It can be a whole host of things working together to cause this or it could even be just one thing. You just have to systematically work through the possibilities and see if it helps.

Since it looks like a newer build, I'd focus on the heat sink and thermal paste first. What heat sink are you using?
