So I decided to re-instal Win7 and start a new, and I did. But now I can't connect to the internet because I don't have a network adapter driver. Help! It's driving me mad trying to figure this out!

Solution
Still need to know what OS version you're running; Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit, but from what I found here, we're going to need more information.

Click the start button and go to Control Panel.
Click on Hardware and Sound
Under Devices and Printers. click Device Manager
In the Device Manager Window, click the triangle next to Network Adapters to expand that selection.

Report back with what it says or you can go to the Dell Web Site and download the matching driver.

For the Operating System drop down, select which version of Windows 7 you're running. For the Category, select "Network". Find the driver that matches what Device Manager reports, download, move it to your Dell and install it. That should get you up and running...

Can you explain?
There is a "Drivers" folder containing audio, network, storage, and video folders. The network folder only holds a "uninstall" application.

Hi

There are a number of system information utilities which will tell you what the hardware components of your system are (even without the device driver being present)
examples:-

System Information for Windows SIW
Belarc Advisor
Everest
HWinfo (Realix)

Motherboard manufacturers web site probably has the specifications and drivers
make sure you get 64 bit drivers for 64 bit OS. Some packages have both versions

If this is a home built computer, please provide us with the motherboard manufacturer and model number. If this is a store bought system, please provide us with the system maker and model number. With that information, we will be able to direct you to the correct driver for your network connection.

Also, when you re-installed Windows 7, was it the 32-bit or 64-bit version?

I am now having the same problem. However, when I click on network adapters, all the names are UNKNOWN. How do I know what drivers to install if my computer doesn't even know the brands?
