I have an ASUS X551CA and I am trying to figure out why I can't boot on any linux distribution (have tried Ubuntu, Debian, Kubuntu, elementaryOS) because there is no boot option available on the BIOS menu. I used to be able to install those distros before, but now it is impossible.
What are my opinions? I do not want to touch the CMOS battery since I could kill my brand new laptop. I am wondering whether the BIOS need to be updated, whether the cache needs to be cleared, or whether I should install erase Windows, install linux then re-install Windows (I need it for the laptop's warranty). Again, if I re-install Windows, I heard that I wouldn't be able to boot onto linux.
Any suggestions? Thank you!
