Good CPU for gaming

Hello, I'm looking for a CPU that will be excellent for gaming and will last for some time.
My budget is around the 250-350 region (maybe a little higher)
If you have a suggestion for a motherboard to match the cpu, my budget is $100-$200

If you need any further details, just ask.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

What graphics card will you be using?
One of the bst cpus for gaming is a core i5 4670k
and a MSI z87 gd65

This solution also allows for overclocking.

i5 4670k and Z87 extreme4 if you want to overclock.

i5 4440 and an Asrock B85 Pro4 if you don't.

E3 1230 v3 and Asrock B85 pro4 if you don't want to overclock but want i7 performance. (Would be my pick for longevity)

Edit* Just saw you comment about GTX 760 in SLI plan. You would need a Z87 extreme3 at minimum for the non overclocking builds.

As long as your PSU has all the necessary PCI-E connectors, that one should be ok for a non overclock build. I would bump up to a 750w EVGA supernova if you want to overclock.

the k model has an unlocked clock ratio, so you can overclock it.

I'd not overclock anything in that system with 650w tbh.
However i'm quite sure you won't need to overclock for a big while.
