Cannot Install any type of Flv player

Much appreciated! I successfully installed VLC. I opened my media library and selected flv files. They played.when selected. I was also able to double click on the file and it played. I had not been able to get that to work before now (FYI - My hard drive got corrupted when a power surge during the february ice storms near Philly. I had my external HD and had been able to restore most of my data. However no apps were saved. I have been slowly recovering over the last month to put all the pieces together.
