could this be PSU related? i recently upgraded PSU and it seems this is when it happened.

i am running W7 64, 660, PSU is corsair 750 bronze.

i did a clean install of the latest nvidia drivers as well, i still get occasional driver crash while on desktop.

*note- i switched to basic theme, will that help at all?

Just to ensure you have connected everything properly go through this list:

everything is connected, only thing i can think of is if the GPU is not pushed in all the way. would this cause display driver errors, or would it just make my pc switch to integrated graphics?

just give a right push downwards after placing your motherboard horizontally or laying the cabinet flat on table. If it is not inserted properly, most probably you won't get any display from your gpu on monitor.
Have you resolved your problem?

no problems in 8+ hours, i guess the microsoft support auto fix download worked. if no problems by tomorrow afternoon, this will be solved. the microsoft fix was for some registry values.
