It`s as it says.

If you burned a disk from a downloaded version of windows as an Iso version provided with a legit licence key.

You must burn the Iso image at a low speed to avoid write errors. x4 speed, the faster you burn with some media your are more likely to end up with errors or corruption of files written to the disk via the burn process.

Either the drive you were using with a DvD based disk is old and having problems reading the files off the disk.

Or the disk is scratched preventing files from being read.
If you used the same disk to copy the installation files or process to a hard drive the result will be the same an error because the disk cannot be read properly on the source disk.

The problem you are facing could be of 3 things :

1. Bad installation Disc.

2. Bad CD/DVD drive, more specifically, lens of the drive got dirty or weak to read from disc.

3. Sometimes if you overclocked something, you could get that error. If so, then bring the components back to stock speed, install OS, then OC the components again.

There is another way to install the OS, by using the USB stick, ofcourse if your MB supports the feature.

You will require a 4GB USB stick.

Download the tool from this link and you will find help on the given page on how to make a Bootable USB stick :

Good luck.

So you have to ask the question is the drive your putting the disk in at fault.

The only other thing that would cause a problem mid way through installing windows.
Would be the type of interface selected for the hard drives and cd/dvd rom based drives.

If you enter your bios of the motherboard, take a look at the mode the interface is set to.

Options are or can be : Sata Ahci IDE.
If your set to Sata mode try Ahci mode and see if the install completes.
Seen it happen a few times.
The primary reason is because when you install windows, before you select where to install it.

If set to Sata mode in the Bios.
You must pre load or install the Sata chip set driver for the computer.
You can do this by looking at the bottom left where it says load driver in blue.
Once you have installed or loaded the driver.
Swap the disk in the drive back to the windows install disk.
Then start the windows installation.

If you do that then the windows installation will not halt but complete.
