Hello.

The topic says it all, im into buying an FX but i dont know if spending 40€ more over the 8350 is worth it, i have an aftermarket cooler so i will not use the stock cooler that comes with the CPU. Can an 8320 hit 4.0 GHz easy or you need some chip luck?any Info would be great.

Thanks.

Yes there is a difference, stock speeds on the 8320 are 3.5ghz idle and 4.0ghz turbo, the 8350 is 4.0ghz and 4.2ghz. That translates to about a 700 point difference in synthetic benchmarks, so in actuality not a noticeable difference. The 8350 is more likely to overclock better as it is a better chip, but there's always the possibility that you can get a really good 8320. Other than that they have the same cache sizes and architecture.

Whether the 40 extra is worth it, is really up to you.

Thanks for your answers, well the difference its not that big from what you tell, i will be using the CPU for gaming 90% so thats why i wanted to know if theres any differences, OCing the CPU its a must and the better OCing of the 8350 its a plus for me...

Well i found some good benchs about 6350 gaming performance, its even better than the 8320 on some games, i was going for an FX-8xxx but 6350 got my attention..

You may as well get the fx 6300 then. It's just like the 8320 and 8350 just different stock clocks (The 8320 can overclock as good as the 8350 btw). And you say you'll be overclocking, so save the extra money and get the 6300. (6300 lower stock clock, but can overclock just as easily the 6350 can)
