Hey, I'm looking into purchasing a new graphics card. Either a sapphire 3GB Toxic R9 280X or EVGA GTX770 the pricing is practically the same. My question is which one is better?
I will need to upgrade my power supply for this. My current computer is a hp envy 1590ea and has:
Intel core i7 3770
16GB ram
3TB hard drive
GTX 660

Will the corsair bronze 750CX 750w power supply be enough to run the sapphire toxic R9 280X as well as running an i7 and 16gb ram? That is what I am worried about as I've heard they're very power hungry cards.
Thanks!

Hmm been looking around and nvidia seems better optimised for the games I will play, rfactor, rfactor 2, assetto corsa, game stock car etc. in rfactor 2 some people found double the performance on similar nvidia cards to amd!

Bumping is not allowed on this site. Please do not do so again. Thank you.

BTW, as both cards perform similarly, you can't go wrong with either of them. If the games you generally play are optimized for one brand of GPU, then use that as a guide to make your purchase as well.

No bad answer here.

If you are looking to use a single card (with a single screen) I would recommend going with the toxic. Due to the upcoming mantle and the overall better benchmark performance. However, if you play games like skyrim with mods or have multiple monitors, or may be thinking about using a multi-card setup I would recommend going for a 4gb 770. The reasons are higher vram and better optimization for SLI in general, also better multi-moniter software.

As COLGeek says some games are optimized for one particular brand, but keep in mind most Nvidia users suffer less problems like artifacting.
