I have a Toshiba Qosmio X775-Q7270 and it was running fine. It was on and I left it for 5 minutes and when I came back it was off. I pushed power button to turn on and all that happens is the power LED blinks red 5 times and nothing. Fan doesn't come on, screen doesn't even blink. Absolutely nothing except the 5 blinks from the red power led. I have done everything I can find on the web...
Take out battery and plug in only
remove plug and try just battery
remove battery and plug and hold power button for 30 seconds, then try battery, or just plug, or both together.
Tried removing ram, switching slots, 1 at a time, etc.
Took hdd out and plugged into desktop and copied all files I needed. Hdd worked fine. Ran error checking just to make sure. No errors found. Hdd shows in good condition.
Took laptop apart to make sure no visible damage, all connections tight, everything looks ok.
I am now at a loss. I have no idea what to do. Anyone out there able to give me a hand? Thanks

Hi, I had the same problem and found the solution in a forum is simple, remove the internal battery. The X70 is a little different but this video illustrates what you're looking for :). This resolved my problem.

Coin Baterry

Hope that helps as I help my.

Believe it or not, the cord that plugs into the wall was not all the way plugged in. In addition, I ended up having to replace that same cord , as it went bad. I had a few lying around, and the first one I tried worked. Good luck!! Hope your's is that easy also.

awesome. glad I could help and that it was something simple.. If I weree you, I would keep a spare on hand. Mine went bad not long after that, so if the problem happens again, replace the cord.

take out the battery
unplug the power cord
hold down the power button and windows button for 15 seconds
plug power cord back in
press power button

this reset the laptop and should be able to work after this.. if not, contact toshiba..
remember you have a warranty from toshiba for this laptop for 1 year, so its worth using it :)
