I don't know if I'm in the right category or if this question has been answered before but this is my case:
I have a computer with a headphone jack and a rear jack, I can switch between them in Windows without having to swap them physically. I just got a 2 channel stereo and I was planning to have the stereo behind me (plugged into headphone jack), and the the desktop speakers to be in front of me (rear jack).

How would I get both to work in surround when I play Battlefield 4 and GMod (Surround compatible?) and stuff?

Solution
It depends on your hardware. You have to have computer and/or audio hardware that does support surround sound. It is not the same if you just mirror front channels to the back also. The easiest thing is to have USB based multi channel soundcard. Some mother boards have multichannel output, but that depends on your mother board how to connect it to the speakers. Sometimes there is digital output that support multichannel sound, sometimes there are several normal outputs that you can directly connect to the active speakers.
