I have a 240 radiater with my water cooling system and it smells whenever I use my new pc for to long and whenever I play intense gaming for to long.

The smell is as if it were from a car radiater. It smells like "burning" electronics. But this means it is doing it's job though rite? my cpu stays cool and all.. and there is a good quality thermal paste on it.

My main question is... how do I get rid of this? Is this normal? I have fans blowing air in. blowing air out makes it way worst.

I was thinking of putting the radiater outside, putting holes into my wall and placing it outside. Which doesn't seem stupid. This is my first solution.

2nd solution I was thinking about. Is adding another 240 radiater. will this help? I don't care so much about the temps, all I want is this smell GONE. it hurts my head THANKS ALOT!

When gaming the CPU will heat up and that heat is transferred to the water and once it starts going through the radiator it will heat up that radiator. Depending on the paint used for that radiator the heat will cause the paint or the fins to smell. If the fiins don't have paint on them and they are not copper then it will smell.
What brand and model is the radiator. Adding another 240 would not solve this because the first radiator will get the warmest water. If you do add another radiator then get a different brand and have it get the warmest water first.
I will say that I have used water cooling for quite a few years and have not noticed any smells.
You have to be careful putting the radiator outside , it will be fine for the summer but not the winter , depending on where you live.

Painted radiators could smell, but I don't think that is what this is, cause you would have smelled that right away. Have you ever cleaned it? Dust WILL accumulate in the radiator, and if you don't clean it you can smell a kind of burning smell from that.

The paint is no issue, but the fins are silver. so not copper. Now that you brought that paint thing up. I'm planning to buy a cheap 90 dollar full size case. Nzxt source 530. I noticed that on my 50 dollar medium case the fans would blow out air with the paint smell of the fan grills from the case. do you think it would be the same thing on the other one.

Anyway. Ima get a new rad, a copper one. a 240 or 360 one, and I will see it happens. Copper=no smell, correct?
