Hi all first post here!!! Just to make a short story long I'm converting an old PC that I built around 7 years ago into a HTPC I have a new case and new gfx card but now I'm trying to install the Scythe Big Shuriken 2 rev B I heard great reviews on it regarding being used in a HTPC setup since it's very quiet. I have an old Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 motherboard and there's a heatsink ("Crazy Cool" heatsink) http://images.bit-tech.net/content_images/2006/10/gigabyte_ga965p_dq6/rear-733.jpg that prevents me to install the backplate form the Big Shuriken What are my options? Just return the Big Shuriken and get something else or is there a way get that cooler installed on that motherboard?

Here's what I did! I didn't install the backplate I used the nylon washers that I had on the original cooler Gigabyte 3D Cooler Pro http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gigabyte-3d-cooler-pro,757.html) seems sturdy but there has to be a reason why they have those plates I guess for vibration I'm tempted to try it
