Motherboard not accepting more than 4 GB Ram

Here is the mother board I am using ntel DG965WH I wanted to upgrade my memory and expand to 8 GB. I had 2 x 1 GB before but I was worried about the compatibility between two different kinds I went out and bought 4 x 2 GB of Patriot 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 667 (PC2 5300)

After installing the first pair, the system booted up and ran smoothly. I shut down put in the other pair, and it wouldn't boot. It started and everything was coming up but there was nothing on the monitor. I even tried to leave one in and run 3 x 2GB but it did the same as the 4 x 2 GB. Here is some info from the motherboard manufacturer.

SDRAM - 1 Gbit
Smallest usable - 512 MB
DIMM (one x16 Single-sided DIMM) - 2 GB

Maybe I am doing something wrong but I feel like the memory I am using fits all the criteria. Is there something I am missing?

EDIT: I am running win 8.1 64 bit

Well, the chipset of this MB only supports two channels at once: 2x2GB, 2x4GB, 2x1GB, though it has 4 slots.

I don't understand what RAM you have - 4 x 2 GB Patriot what part number?

Ignore StoneKay.... the specs clearly say it supports double channel kits and had 2 channels. 2 DIMMs per channel x 2 channels = 4 DIMMs.

Try the sticks one at a time. since it won't boot with one of the sets something is bad.

Alright so I checked all the sticks individually and all of them work fine. I cannot use any more than 2 x 2GB or the monitor never gets a signal

Another thought is that these parts are outdated by DDR3 now. I wouldn't spend too much time or money on them.

Try booting with both of your new sticks in at once with the previous sticks out. Then try booting one of your old sticks with one of your new ones since you already know the two old sticks would boot properly. This will tell us if the two different brands of RAM are causing problems when used together or if it is something else.

That's the odd part. I'm not using my old ram at all. I bought new 4 x 2 GB because I was worried about matching issues.
