I play almost only the game Counter Strike: Global Offensive and I currently play on a 75hz 19" 1440x900 monitor and I'm thinking of upgrading to a 120hz 1920x1080p one. But I'm unsure as to if my PC will be able to take full advantage of this new monitor. My specs are a AMD 7850 1GB, an i5 3550p at 3.10 ghz and 8gb of RAM. I also run the game at lowest settings for the biggest competitive advantage.

Thanks for any replies :)

Think of it this way. What do you get now? If you get 120 fps now, it will only go down when you try running higher resolutions.

My HD 6950 was doing well above that before I sold it and with a worse CPU and with all set on high. So I don't see a reason for you not to get 120FPS.

I currently run the game at 200-300 fps but I cap it at 150 to make my GPU fan quieter.
