Hi there,
I already have Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor X graphics card, now I want to upgrade it with Sapphire R9 280X VaporX Tri X. Now my actual question is do I have to change my power supply for that cause it says I need 750W of power supply to run the R9 280X but I have Thermaltake Toughpower 650W. Right now I can't upgrade my PSU, so should I go for R9 280X or remain with the 7950? Thanks in advance for your help.

Processor: Intel Core i5 4440 3.1 GHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte B85M-D3H
RAM: G.Skill 4x2=8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GPU: Sapphire HD 7950 Vapor-X OC with Boost Edition 3GB DDR5
PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower 650W

Solution
There is nearly any difference between a 7950 and a 280x. You might gain 2 fps but there would be no point in doing so with the cost.
I would save up more, and if you want to upgrade, then get a 290x.

The 770 will only be a little faster than a 280x, Maybe 20% over the 7950.

unless the op ugpgrade to a r9 290x or GTX 780 there is no point to do it the difference in games will go almost unnoticeable...i suggest you keep your card a little longer unless you have 500$ to spend on a new gpu like i did...my previous card was a HD7950 and i bought a GTX780 cause the 7950 was not enough to max out BF4 at 1080p and im a BIG bf4 player...otherwise for the other games i would have not upgraded...also i got a VERY good deal on the 780 and i got a VERY good price for my 7950, i sold the card 50$ more than i paid for it a year ago and i ended up spending only 110$ to upgrade to a 780, and the difference in games is justified...
