I've had my Dell Studio XPS 7100 for around 2 years now. It's served me well, but the GPU is dated. I'm looking to future proof my computer by replacing my Radeon 6670 with my friend's $300 Radeon 7970 soon, but I wonder if there is enough space inside my computer to do so. I feel like my video card is bottlenecking my PC and I want to resolve that issue soon.

Thank you.

The HD7970 measures at 10.5 inches long, and is just under 4 inches longer than your HD6670. The PSU in your Dell should be 460w, and a high end system with a HD7970 measures at approximately 315w power consumption average load.
