Friends! when I want to install win 7 in my lap top with flash disk, in second restart this message (Setup is preparing your computer for first use) seen on screen and doesn't go ahead installation process. even hours... and I try installation for many times but it didn't work.

Well that is about the last step windows performs after installation.
Setting the desktop up, and items on the start bar ect, and account settings.

And why it will freeze is because at that point you should, if used remove your usb flash disk.
What I mean is, is it still plugged in when doing the last step. if so remove it.

If the case try it Muhammad.

Let the system boot, without the usb connected.
Also change the boot order back to Hd to number 1 in the list of the bios.

The lock up may be because windows has to mount a usb drive as a storage device.
With it plugged in it may cause a halt.

As it is trying to work out the storage device.
Mass storage device/ usb flash drive.

The stick should be removed before the last step of setting up desktop.

but my lap top is refurbished...
and have some different with that lap top in hp.com

Right Muhammad,
What was the original, OS installed on the laptop as factory default.
In other words the day it was first turned on out of the box.

I`m betting it was windows Vista. But it could of also been windows 7.

Have you tried safe mode by using the F8 key when powering up the laptop.

Did you
"Install a new copy of windows "
Or
"Install over existing Windows", which means your Program Files, User folder and all the custom folders in C:\ will remain untouched.

If you did no the second one, I'd recommend you to format the C drive!
