I'm going to get to the PSU in a little. So I came across a HP DC7900 SSF for $60. It's got the Core2Quad 2.83GHz, 4GB DDR2, and the motherboard has two PCIe 2.0 slots. However, they are oriented for single slot business cards as they are right next to each. But I figure I can move this system over to a tower and use a AMD 4870 HD I got a while back for $10. I plan to use it to play games like Portal 2 and Skyrim on my bedroom TV and other random activities (YouTube, Netflix, etc...) while in the comfort of my bed (already have a dedicated gaming rig with 3770, GTX 670 FTW, 12GB DDR3). Anyways, the SSF PSU is only 240 watts, obviously not enough to run any kind of video card that requires external power.

PSU QUESTION: So, I was raiding my spare parts cabinets for a usable PSU for the 4870 HD. I cam across a PSU rated at 600W and 32A on a single 12v rail. It's an off-brand but since it exceeds requirements and AMD probably fudges a little to begin I think it would be okay (especially since I only have $70 total invested in system so it's worth a little risk to avoid purchasing an expensive HQ PSU). However, it has ATX 20/24 PIN, 4 PIN, 4 Molex, 1 SATA, and One Floppy connector. No PCIe connectors! WTH! Why would anyone make a PSU with a single 12v rail rated at 32A if it's not going to be used with a graphics card??? I don't plan to use any of the Molex connectors, do you think I could use two adapters to get my two PCIe connectors? I know, I'm probably just going to have to get a Corsair, SeaSonic, etc. PSU to be safe. But still, Any thoughts on that PSU design, seriously, why 32A if no PCIe connectors???

Solution
I'm gonna go ahead and assume that the reason behind 32A and no PCIe connectors is 1 - It's old and 2 - It's a flaming piece of cr@p like most bundled PSUs. And while it may be possible to use 2 adapters for MOLEX to PCIe, it's also possible to throw that PSU in the trash.

Lol, yeah it's old, I think I actually bought it cheap for an old Socket 478 system I had and just wanted to get a few more months out of before I upgraded to the first Socket 775 Core2Duo system I owned (The Socket 478 PSU failed). Since Core2Quads are still likely to be usable for some time to come and still sell for more than I paid for the whole system, I suppose I might as well spring for a $60 Corsair or something, just need 500 CONTINUOUS watts, not going to overclock anything seeing how it's an HP board. But I just can't get over 32A and no PCIe, even if it's crap, how much more could it have cost to put those on...
