I am thinking in a month or two , about building a pc for my mum. she doesn't want to game or anything to high end, but will be browsing the internet and will want a operating system windows 7.

I already have a psu with is a unbranded, and a motherboard which is a asus m4a88t-v evo motherboard which supports up to a six core processor. I was thinking maybe a quad core chip from amd as I want the pc to last for 4-5 years if possible

any ideas many thanks ?

If your mum is only going to surf the web, (YouTbe, FB, and some games on FB), a Core2Duo e4400 should do(2GHz, I have this one, I use it for rendering, gaming, and other stuff awesome CPU) Maybe even a P4. A cheap ASUS board, There are a lot of them, with the cpu for a low price. A 120 GB HDD sould do, 2GB of RAM, and 128 MB GPU shoild do (something like EVGA 128MB PCI eGeFORCE FX5200) and a 400W PSU; just in case... Considering the PC will be used for office, web, movies. NOthing hard. A quad-core will be to much for that :). And if you want it to last, you should get a decent PSU.
