Hi. I've currently running a 780ti and was thinking of adding another one. But will the 3gigs be enough? Does sli actually consume more vram? I'm gaming on 1080p 144hz.

No, SLI doesn't consume extra VRAM, but it also doesn't stack. 2 cards with 3GB VRAM still can only use 3GB of VRAM. The settings that consume the most VRAM are resolution, texture resolution and anti-aliasing. @1080p the 3GB will probably be fine. They certainly are enough for the games currently out there. If you are considering going 1440p+ then the 3GB might become a problem.

There is also a 6GB version of the 780ti in the works, but you would have to sell your 3GB version and get two of those. If you get a good deal, it might be worth it. It probably won't though.

Lastly, what is the hurry? With the 6GB versions coming out and Maxwell coming at the end of this year, prices might drop significantly. What do you need a second one for now? I guess for the 144hz. Half a year gaming at sub 144fps might save you a lot of money on the long run though.
