You can calculate depreciation on each part but it's more effective if you calculate the depreciation on the entire build, and to do that here's how.

Take what you paid for it, subtract the salvage value and divide by the life of the system. An £800 build owned for two years with a salvage value of £120 would depreciate this way:

Year one:

((£800 - £120) / 2) = £340

£800 - £340 = £460

Year two you multiply the depreciation by the month of sale (January = 1/12, February = 2/12, March = 3/12, etc).

Year two (if selling in April) : £340 * (4/12) = £113.33
£460 - £113.33 = £346.67

So you can expect to sell your system for around £346.67. If you sell over this value it is considered a gain on sale, if you sell below this value it's a loss on sale.

Well that's just a hypothetical. You can use that to calculate your exact value and that's alone the book value, if you sell over the book value it's a gain on sale, if you sell below it's a loss on sale.
