Hi Guys,

I am trying to use this DVI-D cable to hook up my monitor and an HDMI cable to connect to my Panasonic Viera TV.

When I use this setup plugging into my radeon 6970 (specs) I am not able to extend my displays...or make any changes at all as I get an "Unable to save display settings." message similar to the pic here.

When I hook up my monitor using a VGA cable + a VGA to DVI port adapter I am able to extend the screen and save normally.

Why can't I extend screen when using my DVI cable? Can we find a fix for this? I spent extra money on this DVI cable for the extra length to be able to move my tower to a certain area to keep it and connections protected from my 1 year old.

Please help?

So, I think I just figured it out. I had to switch ports (would not work in top port that was on same level as HDMI connection) and then detect and extend in catalyst manager.
