For some reason I cant get good signal on devices that are just in the next room. Devices like my laptop and Playstation 4. I have two ethernet wires running in here but One has to go to my blu ray player cause of no wifi adapter and the other has to go to my computer. My laptop does not support the Dual Band feature nor does the playstation 4. But i am only seeing about 50-70 percent signal with the playstation 4. I have no cordless phones or anything that could cause interference that I know of. I have tried changing the channel but it has done no good. I also tried that SSIder program and put it on channels that no one elses routers where on in the neighborhood but that hasnt done much good so I leave it on auto. I do use a WPA 2 password and its a long one because people kept getting the old ones. I also updated the router to latest firmware. One setting that has me puzzled and could be the root of the issue is the bandwith and i have that set to 20/40 mhz on both bands. If anyone knows anything that can be done Im all ears. Thanks.

i would try this since the wired is low strart by doing a speedtest then check the cable from the provider modem to the router ,the channel change is only for the wireless part and did you put a router on top of a desk also if there is a household appliance in the way of the signal up to the wireless device that could affect it . for your password 8 letter or number is good enough but you need at least a capital letter and a number and it should not be any dictionnary word those are easy to get find and bypass.
