Hi guys and gals....

Upgrading my father-in-law's PC and he has just brought a Sapphire HD 7950 graphics card to go on the rig. The specs are as follows:

MB: ASRock FM2A55M-HD+
CPU: AMD A8 6600K Black Edition
MEM: Corsair DDR3 1866mhz (2 x 8Gb) 16Gb (CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9)
PSU: 750W WIN +PowerPlus
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

The issue I am facing is with regards the drivers for the HD 9750. The card runs fine on the initial "PnP" Microsoft generic drivers, but when I install Catalyst and AMD specific drivers for the card, the PC crashes on re-boot, just after the Windows splash screen, and will not start on subsequent re-boots. I can do a System Restore (via Safe Mode) back to the generic driver, and everything works fine again. I have tried all drivers and various versions of Catalyst, but to no avail.

Anyone got any ideas??

Looks like a bad card! Will not run in 3d on the AMD drivers.
